V4 concert series to start in Budapest Várkert Bazár

A two-month concert series featuring jazz, world and folk musicians from the Visegrad Four countries is starting in Budapest's Várkert Bazár on Friday, organisers said.

Between October 13 and December 15, Várkert Bazár will host outstanding musicians from the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia every Friday. The event is organised within the framework of Hungary’s V4 rotating presidency.

The opening concert on October 13 is featuring the Hungarian folk group Dűvő and Polish jazz formation Marcin Wasilewski Trio. Other performers in the series include Hungarian artists Edina “Mókus” Szirtes, Irén Lovász, the BeshoDrom music group and György Ferenczi and the Rackajam group. From Slovakia, the orchestras Varsányi and Nomád will perform, as well as Czech a capella orchestra SKETY and violinist and singer Jitka Šuranská. Polish artists Aga Zaryan and Anna Maria Jopek contribute.
