Orban said the European Union's recent forecasts should not mislead anyone, as the EU had never before been right about its predictions regarding Hungary's deficit.
Hungary successfully reduced public debt in 2012 and it keeps its finances under control, he said.
Orban said the goals of the next 20 years have been laid down and they included putting an end to the country's financial- and energy dependence, rescuing forex debtors and stopping the population decrease.
All Hungarians should be able to find work at home, Hungary's economy should be among the thirty most competitive economies, 15-20 regional multinationals should contribute to strengthening the economy and public debt should be below 50 percent of GDP, he said.
More Hungarian universities should be among the top 200 in the world and Hungarians' living standards should be above the average in the European Union, Orban added.
"Hungary is performing well, better than before and is more successful in tackling the crisis than most European countries," he said.
