Hungarian-Slovak relations are much better than generally reported, and the common interests of the two countries far outweigh any ongoing disputes, Hungarian Foreign Minister Janos Martonyi said on Friday.
After talks with Miroslav Lajcak, his Slovak counterpart, Martonyi said a difference of opinion was clear on the issue of citizenship due to a difference in interpretation of the relation between state and citizen.
"The current Slovak plans do not sufficiently amend individuals' grievances," Martonyi said. Continual dialogue is needed to resolve disputed issues, he added.
