Danish Ambassador to Hungary Mads Sandau-Jensen urged closer cooperation by all 27 European Union members to meet increased challenges, at a meeting of Hungary's parliamentary committee for European affairs on Tuesday.
Sandau-Jensen said the EU was "one family" and not divided into two groups.
He said the current Danish presidency of the EU was heavily impacted by the euro crisis, despite the fact that Denmark is not a member of the common currency zone.
He said Denmark aimed to make the EU more responsible, dynamic, environmentally-conscious and safer during its six-month stint at the presidency until June 2012.
Asked about Denmark's stance on the EU fiscal pact on debt and budgetary discipline, Sandau-Jensen said Denmark has decided to definitely back the pact.
