Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air has announced the launch of new flights to nine destinations from Budapest in addition to the Bucharest flight announced earlier.
Chief executive Jozsef Varadi told a press conference on Tuesday that Wizz Air would fly to Malaga, Cluj Napoca, Bucharest, Warsaw, Sofia, Larnaca, Heraklion, Zakynthos, Rhodes and Thessaloniki. The capacity expansion will create 400 jobs directly and about 2,000 indirectly, he added.
Romanian state airline Tarom raised the number of its daily flights between Budapest and Bucharest from one to two in the wake of Malev's shutdown, the airline said on Tuesday.
