The Boeing 787-800 bound for London from India entered Hungarian air space at 9.45am on Friday morning.
The plane stayed on its designated flight path but failed to contact air traffic control, the statement said. Hungarian jets identified and accompanied the plane, which then contacted air traffic control shortly before 10am, the ministry said.
