Budapest enters twin city agreement with Sarajevo

Under the agreement, the two cities plan to cooperate in culture, tourism, youth policy, education, social services, city management and public utilities.

Sarajevo wants to make use of Hungary’s experiences in public utilities, especially in the areas of mass transport, infrastructure, sewage, water treatment and waste management, according to the document approved by the general assembly.

European integration has special importance for Bosnia and Herzegovina and there is great interest in information about the introduction of European standards, experiences gained from integration and the transfer of information about tenders, the document said.

The programmes to be implemented under the cooperation agreement will enable increased public involvement in cultural, tourism, youth and sports projects, it added.
