House speaker paying official visits to S Korea, Japan

In Seoul, Kover is scheduled to hold talks with Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn and his South Korean counterpart, Chung Eui-hwa. Kover’s delegation will meet members of the Korean-Hungarian Parliamentary Friendship Group and pay a visit to the Department of Hungarian Studies at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. The delegation will also visit the demilitarised zone separating the two Koreas.

Kover will later present an award to Dankook University President Chang Ho-sung.

In Tokyo, Kover will meet Emperor Akihito, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, the president of the upper house of the Japanese parliament, Masaaki Yamazaki as well as Tadamori Oshima, the speaker of the lower house. Kover will also hold talks with members of the upper house’s Japanese-Hungarian Parliamentary Friendship Group.

He will pay a visit to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and lay a wreath at the Atomic Bomb Dome.

Kover will be accompanied by Laszlo L Simon, who heads the Hungarian-Korean Parliamentary Friendship Group and Attila Mesterhazy, a member of both the Hungarian-Korean and Hungarian-Japanese friendship groups.
